How to Succeed at Yoga as a Beginner |

Everyone starts somewhere. Yes, that includes the yogi who has been teaching classes in your area. You may feel intimidated by their skill or you feel like they’ll make fun of you for not knowing enough. You’re wrong.
Yoga is not about beating others to be top of the class. You can take your time and advance at your own pace. Now, for your starting point, remember the following:
Choose the Right Yoga Class
There are many kinds of yoga to consider. Hot yoga is one particularly challenging class, as you’ll be doing your poses in a hot room. Aerial yoga is another option, but this requires upper body strength that you may need to test out using the easiest yoga class you can find. Easy yoga in HK might not require anything but a mat, and frankly, it’s all you need. Yoga is not about showing off your skills. It’s about taking the time to breathe deeply and work with your body instead of against it. Go ahead and take that easy class if it’s the level you’re comfortable in. Then, at your own pace, try other forms of yoga to test the depths.
Have the Right MindsetYoga can be intimidating if you let yourself be carried away by the difficult poses you’ve seen people do on TV. You may be enrolled in an easy yoga class, but that doesn’t mean you’re bad at it. You haven’t even tried it yet; don’t let yourself be discouraged before your first session. Yoga aims to stretch and strengthen your muscles, lengthen the body, and correct posture problems. It does not aim to humiliate you in a room full of people with similar skills. Everyone in the room might be just as nervous as you.
Dress for Comfort
It sounds tempting to buy the cutest yoga pants you see on the market, but if they’re not made of stretchy material, you may end up having an accident in the middle of a yoga class. Before you look at their style, consider their comfort and functionality. You won’t even have to sacrifice much, as most yoga clothes these days are functional and stylish. In fact, they’re so stylish that even those not practicing yoga wear them. Yoga is a way to improve yourself; it’s not something to stress over the difficulty. However new you are to this wellness exercise, there’s a class that will suit.
